Cougar Town, a new sitcom on the American broadcasting channel ( better known as ABC )marks the return of Courtney Cox-Arquette to the small screen. The show’s premise isn’t a highly original one: Group of divorced women in their midlife crises resides in an environment chock full of young men that they attempt to seduce, hilarity ensues.

If you ask me this is just another ploy to keep our wives’ and daughters’ faces stuck to the television screen, looking at these non-existent people live their fake lives, full of adventure, twists and turns, and sexual innuendos a-plenty. The show is your basic sitcom ( situation comedy for those who don’t know) short scenes that virtually don’t feed the plot at all, background laughter and applause so that you get every single “joke”. A show made to attract an essentially female audience: attractive men, well dressed women and the whole spiel. The T.V industry just seems to be spinning around in circles. producing mindless show after mindless show, and they don’t seem to be learning from their mistakes at all. Maybe some day Chuck Norris and Mr. T will make a comeback and save the industry
